How did you guys meet, and how important is your friendship in what you do for work?
J: Clay and I met in middle school, and have been friends for about fifteen years.
C: Friendships are everything! I’ve always said; it’s not the actual job, but the people you work with that make you want to go to work or not.
The “Japanese Gold Rush” is a popular choice at the bar. What do you think people love most about this cocktail?
J: The Japanese Gold Rush is simple with only three ingredients, yet you taste so much more – such as mild vanilla, oak and even pear.
In the busy whirlwind of work life and personal life, how do you guys find your balance?
C: “All in moderation” is the key to success and happiness. It’s very important to have a clear seperation from work and play, but still dedicate time to both. These days, I work, work, work, work 4 days at Elephante, and then fly home to the Bay Area to play!!
J: I find balance by taking time for self care, and designating certain times to just spend with friends and family. Regardless of what’s going on, unplugging from the hustle of work life is an absolute necessity.
What’s your perfect day off?
J: Perfect day off would consist of a late morning yoga class, great meal with friends, and hanging at the beach, followed with a massage or a movie.
C: Time spent outdoors with loved ones. It’s the little things…
